Following the incident of Mario Bortolotto a dramatist, poet, director, writer, lyricist, actor, light designer, sound designer, vocalist and one artist which has been an influence to jg co. & communications when we lunch:
Say No to Guns campaign, a simple appeal to the implication of violence in our society. It aims to alert the public against the use of this coward & dangerous weapon.
Whatever it is used on assaults it is also used mostly and efficiently by organize crime who use public spaces as an excuse to apply their coward activities.
We artists work for humans and human is what we all are. If people of different ‘social’ background identify with our work it is a bless, but it does not mean we are criminal because criminals like our work or we are bourgeois either.
That neutrality is simply to be part of it all and is that what our profession requires of us. Violence, or guns shooting is not going to resolve any problem at all, and by the use of gun we are not only killing we are also creating pain.
There is always an alternative.
Our suggestion after reading reports on people who kill with a gun, or hurt someone painfully is the practice of martial arts.
The training of martial art even prepare you psycologically and mentally against the impulses which makes people use guns.
We believe that change of consciousness would make all the difference.
